Master of Love
I was recently told the following story about love. And not your usual kind of love story. This type of love goes beyond all that we think we know about love. And for most people, love is either of a romantic nature, or the kind of love a parent has to a child. In our everyday life that is exactly what we consider love to be. I think, every moment of our day, we can chose to meet a situation with love and compassion for ourself and the other, a love that goes beyond our sense of self preservation. However, for the most part, we forget we have a choice and react instead based on the stories we tell ourselves, our usual patterns of behavior and our survival strategies.
